Kayak Races

The Exploration Northwest crew visits two whitewater races where competitors are attempting to qualify for the Olympic Trials. Racers navigate a series of gates hung by wires above the river at Salmon La Sac, near Cle Elum, and in Capilano Canyon near Vancouver, British Columbia.

Orange Torpedo
30 minutes - 1974

Inflatable kayaks known as the “Orange Torpedo” are the stars of this 60-mile whitewater trip down the Klamath River in northern California. A helmet-mounted camera provides viewers with a close-up look at the action.

Kayaking The Rogue River

Adventurers test their newly acquired skills in this 4-day, white-water kayak trip down 35 miles of Oregon's legendary Rogue River. After an intensive 6-day training course by Sundance Expeditions, the class is ready to launch at Graves Creek. Magnificent canyons and forested hills form the banks of the Rogue River.
